Day 21 of 90 My Best Practices Real Estate 2018 and I have a confession. Two weeks into coaching and I am not doing all that I should and could. I know this. Knowing what to do and then doing it with consistency and clarity is the hard part of this simple job. We see this all around us on a daily basis in this industry, people knowing what to do and not doing it. Take for instance, answering your phone, or returning a call or email. So many agents don’t do this. I know this because it is rare to call an agent and have them pick up. Here is what I have observed with these agents, when and if they call back they always talk about how busy they are. Second and more accurate version is when a great agent either answers the call immediately or gets back in a timely fashion. Truly successful and busy agents never tell you how busy they are.
While I am not following through on my daily calls as I should I am working on it. If I am not on the phone during the allotted time, I am watching videos or reading books about how to do it, or how to be more effective with it. Focused on better habits is not aided by beating yourself up for not being perfect. When I have a good day, and there have been many, I feel great all day in spite of various struggles. When I am not doing all I should there is a not so vague malaise about the day. Paying attention to my feelings in this regard is good, but paying attention to feelings when I come up to a task I need to complete is the pothole. I have to grind through those moments and get back on task.
Two weeks in and reaching the listing goals I know there is still much to do to make the goal of building best practices for a sustainable real estate practice. Day 21 of 90 My Best Practices Real Estate 2018
